| So, here's a game: Comment on this post and ask to play. I will choose seven userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal and so on....
James chose these from my userpics:
Basket That's me weaving a basket in Kenya during my first field experience. I was 20.
Twere A watercolor I did for my friend Trewin Greenaway of a scene from his marvelous CRONNEX series. "Twere" is the word used in the world he's created for a pair of friends in a committed and socially sanctioned relationship, sex optional, no limit per individual. Cool!
Mask I chose this because it's that rare combination: hot and hilarious. Those top hats!
Lamb Another watercolor, this one inspired by William Blake's "The Lamb" as sung by Carly and Lucy Simon on an album (that's vinyl, folkses) from the early 70s. Painted for my second nephew's birth. Innocence and experience, ya know? Used here because the naked faun-boy is... naked.
Desire Same photographer as the "mask" picture, above. Waist cinchers and corsets rev my engine. So do masks.
Rope A flogger made of silk rope. Can you imagine? Me, too!
History From Wilhelm Von Gloeden's "classical" series from the 1920s in which he dressed up these adorable Sicilian fisherboys and shepherds in chitons and togas (and birthday suits). I can never decide if the whole process is demeaning or exalting. I imagine the ragazzi tolerating their eccentric foreign patron with affectionate irony. I use this one to announce my "Speak Its Name" reviews.
